New outpatient/IOP addiction treatment programs available in Chicago suburbs

Rosecrance has launched intensive outpatient (IOP) addiction treatment programs (IOPs) for adults of all ages at its offices in Northbrook, Frankfort and La Grange.

IOPs allow people to focus on their recovery skills while staying in their home environments. Clients participate in treatment nine hours a week using an evidence-based recovery curriculum that includes individual and family counseling, peer support, 12-step group introduction, experiential therapies and education about the disease of addiction, life skills and relapse prevention.

Merry Beth Sheets is the director of Chicago recovery services.

The programs are open to people transitioning directly from residential substance abuse treatment centers or who are assessed to be appropriate for this level of outpatient care. Length of treatment is based on individual need but typically lasts about three months, said Merry Beth Sheets, Rosecrance’s director of Chicago recovery services.

This is an expansion of young adult IOPs that already existed at the sites. The La Grange office, which opened in 2016, is the newest addition to Rosecrance’s growing list of treatment sites. IOPs for adolescents also are available at the locations.

“Expanding the adult IOP allows us to better meet the needs of the community and opens up access to treatment services to more people who are interested in pursuing and maintaining recovery,” Sheets said.

The offices also offer confidential drug and alcohol evaluations, and breathalyzer and urine drug screenings. Call 815-391-1000 for more information.
