Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Moving throughout the intensive outpatient program (IOP) continuum of care provides the support clients need for strong, lasting recovery. IOP may be particularly helpful for individuals stepping down from residential treatment as well as for those who need more support than outpatient services.
IOP includes individualized substance use treatment with group and individual counseling, educational sessions and special topic groups, and planning for relapse prevention.
Rosecrance River North offers IOP for adolescents and adults. Common IOP schedules include group counseling for nine hours per week for eight to 10 weeks, with stepdown options that meet for about five hours weekly for four weeks, and then individualized continuing care. Additional education is provided to prevent substance use, avoid triggers, build connections in recovery, promote family support, and learn about/attend 12-Step meetings.
Some of our programming includes care for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, incorporating treatment methods such as dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that help with emotional regulation.
