Rosecrance McHenry County is proud to announce that it received a Mission Grant from the Community Foundation for McHenry County. The nearly $6,000 in funds will be used to enhance therapeutic recreation programming for children and adolescents.
During summer, winter, and spring breaks from school, Rosecrance McHenry County offers an “Arts, Animals and Adventure” program to help clients develop emotion and behavior regulation skills. This evidence-based approach introduces participants to real-life situations in which they can apply skills learned through therapy. Though “Arts, Animals and Adventure” transitioned to a virtual mode in 2020, the grant will facilitate a return to in-person activities this fall.
“We are grateful for these resources that allow us to meet a very real need in the community,” said Anne Boccignone, Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications and Executive Director of The Rosecrance Foundation. “Youth gain so much from these interactions that help them grow as individuals who are active in the community.”
The Community Foundation for McHenry County is the county’s leader for providing legacy giving opportunities to the community’s donors and charitable organizations.
