Rosecrance Jackson Centers evolves to meet community needs

Two of the latest sources of growth are the expansion of the residential campus  and increased access to mental health treatment to Woodbury County residents.

Rosecrance Jackson Centers, with its unique approach, is constantly evolving to meet the current needs of the communities it serves.

Two of the latest sources of growth are the expansion of the residential campus to include a dedicated space for therapeutic recreation, an intentional intervention woven into residential treatment, and increased access to mental health treatment for Woodbury County residents.

Therapeutic recreation plays a vital role in the healing process for residential clients at Rosecrance. It is integrated into the treatment program because it has a unique ability to connect with clients. While it may appear to be just fun and games, it is actually a crucial technique that teaches clients how to apply experiential learning to navigate life. Data indicates that this approach improves stress, anxiety, emotional regulation, engagement with others, and knowledge of life skills. Rosecrance Jackson will soon be able to offer this resource to its clients.

Another exciting new expansion is increased access to mental health services. By integrating mental health support into the existing substance use and psychiatric care, the critical interconnection between mental and physical well-being can be addressed.

With this expansion, licensed clinicians are available to provide services for a wide variety of mental health concerns. Additionally, an individual can benefit from the expertise of a peer specialist with firsthand experience in mental health and recovery, who can advocate for and mentor them, connect them with the community, and help them develop skills. The services also provide access to a case manager who can coordinate services, offer insight into beneficial resources, provide medical referrals, and assist in accessing essential services such as housing, food, and utilities. This comprehensive support system allows individuals to receive evaluations, attend individual therapy sessions, find guidance from like-minded individuals, and access case management to coordinate and access essential services.
