Real-world reviews

One day at a time. ✔️ In case someone needs to hear it, I am living the life I once cried and prayed for. … I am team lead at my job, I’ve been there almost two years and have never been late or missed a day thanks to my sobriety and my changed behaviors.

Wonderful facility, attentive staff, strong communication.

I feel like a new man.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to build a strong foundation for recovery. I will always be so grateful for the greatest opportunity of my life. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The folks at Rosecrance are very accommodating to our hospital’s needs and our discharging patients.

1 year sober, thanks to Rosecrance – Harrison, Rosecrance – Lakeview and their great staff!

I thought I would be helped with recovery from my alcohol addiction only. Instead, I was given much more help, forgiving myself in a way I can apply the benefits in all phases of my life.

In all honesty people may talk down on greendale staff and the place that gave them a place to lay there head because they don't like rules which if they can't handle the rules and feed back that would help them out in life then that's on them and I wasn't too crazy about coming here seven months ago and I'm going on my 8th month and wanted to leave on my 2nd month but if you give the staff a chance to talk to them and interact with them then you would think twice about listening to others how horrible it is here which it isn't at all. I actually learned a lot here. I learned patience which I had none at all well very little when I got here now I can stand in line at a gas station for a hour and don't mind but what I'm trying to say is greendale helped me a lot and the staff does listen to your needs and concerns and everyone handles things differently in a positive way of course. Also they made me look at everyone isn't all bad people and everyone does things differently it's just that you want to change or be stuck at the bottom and they honestly opened my eyes and made me see the glass is always full and ever half full anywhere u go there's going to be that person who doesn't like something or someone well guess what that's life and if you want to change and I was very stubborn person words goes in one ear out the other and as time went on isnt like that for me anymore here not to kiss butt well put this if you want the help and want to stay clean and sober greendale and greendale staff is here 24/7 for who ever also the residents is pretty cool too.

Really really loved this place! Was here twice a few years back for suicide and self harm attempts. The staff were so nice, the beds were honestly comfortable. The food was honestly so good! Staff let us have extra snack in the evening if we are 75% or more of our meals. Of course, I always ate 100%. I absolutely loved room time, rec time, tv time, snack time, etc. Wish I had a roommate but other then that it was great! We stayed in the unit all day but it was still so much fun, we made the best of it.

Thank God you took me back when I was again at that state of pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization and still treated me with kindness and respect and nursed me back to health physically and gave me hope psychologically and the strength to try again. I am still sober. I'm taking care of myself, my home, a friend's dog who probably won't be back for quite a while dealing with his own consequences. I am also an Uber driver now and loving it. Tonight I am making two homemade lasagna pans, one for me and one for my neighbor which I haven't done in years. I have a sponsor. I am getting back to feeling good about myself and putting into practice what I have learned over the years when sober. It works....it really does, if you try. I'm not perfect nor will I ever be, I'm not always happy. I get angry then I try to pause when agitated, ask for that right thought or action, maybe change my perspective or remember things I've done in the past or present, whenever I point one finger three are pointing right back at me. I need to focus not so much as what needs to be changed in the world or the people around me as what I needs changed with my attitude and/or perspective. I need to remember my serenity is inversely proportional to my expectations. I need to pray for the willingness to stop resenting those who wronged me remembering they are spiritually sick just as I am when I am using or not trying to seek and be willing to do God's will as I can be sick sober too. Looking for that person, place, or thing to make me feel complete hasn't worked. It is my self-seeking, it is my self will run riot. That or ruminating on the past or worrying too much about the future has, and if I allow it, run me right back to the bottle and worse. So yes I need to use page 86 and look at the 24 hours ahead asking that it especially be divorced from self-pity, dishonest, or self-seeking motives. I need to read Reflections and Just for Today. I need to have daily meetings to keep me on track, course corrections, attitude adjustments, or just reminding me how easy it is for me to slip. And most importantly, I don't feel so alone. Hopefully someone gets something from this if they read it this far. Take care!

My life kept falling apart and I landed myself in ICU earlier this year. This time I bridged and Rosecranse, literally, saved my life. I'm so very grateful and I have nothing but love for the doctors , nurses, therapists, and staff ! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. For the first time I have hope and the power of how I react to situations and my life . I simply surrendered and let go and let God.

My therapist Jiana has a great way of connecting with people and helping them to feel comfortable with their journey to recovery. The way the sessions were conducted made me want to be there instead of feeling like it was something I had to do which I feel is really important for someone seriously struggling to find peace in recovery! This place will forever be part of me. They absolutely changed my outlook on life and the way I can see a doctor because it was the first time a doctor counselors nurses and staff fought hard and bothered to care so greatly about me and helped to save my life with no anterior motive but to see me succeed. I was a victim of a gruesome crime from people and the effects left me devestated ptsd i couldnt walk talk or remember anything past a second of seeing or reading it. I was told i was going to permanent homes and disability for life and id never recover so get comfy. and the malpractice was so demeaning and overdosed me greatly to make every dollar possible. Rosecrance was hope healers and love compassion and patience I'd never been given before. I still see them today. I went from the bottom 10% of worst cases they've delt with to the top 20 most recovered cases they had ever seen. This was told to me by the wises doctor brightwell who worked there still being in his 80s and even staying past his time he wanted to retire to keep treating me and some other special case patients. Thats a true hero. And I could never thank them enough or give them enough in return to show them how much appreciation I feel. Dr brightwell became a fan of my singing and really encouraged me and I now work with my manager who worked with stars on American idol and concerts world wide and much more to share than would fit here. I have God to thank also but I worked damn hard as well. And a team that all works together gets mad results done even when it seems there is no hope.

This place changed and saved my life. The counselors gave me insights into my faded sense of self and who I was anymore when I was at my lowest of lows and started me off in rediscovering myself and giving me the tools I needed when I left to enter into the world of recovery that I had known nothing about beforehand. They have a great support system for alumni through the app, online meetings, social events, and continued communication with the counselors and support that was given from the start. There are continuous levels of recovery that you can continue with past inpatient treatment in the way of intensive outpatient (IOP) and sober living. Their programs dealing with mental health provide another level of insight into internal matters that further add to the addictions of its patients and their day-to-day regimen focusing on the addict as a well-rounded whole sets a person up for the highest level of success outside of their physical or virtual walls. I recommend Rosecrance to anyone I come across still struggling as having a wholistic approach to those willing to take on treatment.

There have been a few individuals I have worked with here that I would recommend to others in a heartbeat. Deb Corrigan, Leah Scanlan (her communication and follow up is phenomenal whenever I have a question about billing or insurance), Kristine Alexander, and Jenny Olson. I owe a lot to these providers and there have been times in the past I’ve given up and gone back to start again, always at square one. I know how frustrating that must be for them, but they always welcome me back. Yes, depending on insurance it can be expensive but the treatment has also saved my life. I think that’s worth any cost.

Mar-2023

I finally found recovery in November 2020. I hit a horrible rock-bottom in NYC, and came back to my hometown of Rockford, IL for post-inpatient care. I had no money, and the pandemic had shut my job down completely. With urgency and care, I was enrolled in the IOP program (Intensive Outpatient). It was all through video at that time of course, and I found great support through my group and guidance from my counselor, who lovingly took me through the first 3 steps of recovery. I wasn't rushed through anything, and the strength, hope, and experience of the closed group helped me trust their feedback. I was incredibly nervous to transition to the aftercare program (going from 3 days a week to 1 - what was I going to DO??), but I found a whole new group of people ready to share support. Fearing too much free time, I began incorporating meetings on the app. The Rosecrance alumni app is an incredible resource - connecting this community of addicts in recovery with mental health resources, meetings, articles, books, and a community posting page to keep engaged with each other in a safe space. I have over 2 years of clean time now, and Rosecrance is still an important piece of my recovery. I can lean on the alumni team when I'm struggling, and engage in service activities to help newcomers. I will continue to utilize their many services. What a remarkable place! Like any other recovery tool, you get out of it what you put into it, but it's easy to lean into recovery when you have the kind of support that the team at Rosecrance Harrison provides.

I was full of shame, misery, and guilt from the life I was living, acts I had committed, and the family I had given up all for that next one. Never understanding, as much I was wanted to why I just couldn’t stop. From the moment I walked into Rosecrance I was treated with dignity, compassion, and respect by the staff. As if they actually knew how I felt and what I was going through. Come to find out, it was because the majority had been there themselves at one time. They could relate to that state of hopelessness I was in. This wasn’t just something they learned from reading a book. The experience and staff there is a huge part of what saved my life. I will forever be grateful.

I now have 1.5 years of sobriety under my belt and have confidence in the futureThe groups are a place of safety and comfort. The staff aswell as the peers are relatable, inspiring and encouraging. Kim is the most uplifting person you will ever come across in recovery. Smart move to have her be the first person you deal with at Connections. My life will never be the same (thank goodness) since I have come to ConnectionsI will continue on my road to recovery with the support of Connections for as long as they will have me.

Plain and simple- Connections saved my life! I have had nothing but positive experiences as a client and mentor at Connections. Shannon (my therapist) has been amazing. Brooke (my 15 year old daughters therapist) has made an awesome connection with my daughter- I trust Brooke completely! The IOP program was great- it jump started my recovery after a relapse during quarantine in 2020. I was referred to the Recovery Foundation when I couldn’t afford my insurance deductible and I received funding that allowed me to continue my treatment. Whenever I ask for help, Connections Counseling has been there for me. I am so grateful!

CHAMPIONS OF RECOVERY 24/7 The Rosecrance story shows how a responsible organization evolves through the decades to meet a community’s changing needs. Founded as an orphanage for a handful of boys in 1916, Rosecrance has become a comprehensive behavioral health network serving more than 32,000 families each year. That transformation accelerated in November 2010 with the affiliation between Rosecrance and Janet Wattles Center, the region’s largest provider of community mental health services. The two organizations formally merged on Sept. 1, 2011, to create the state’s most comprehensive network of behavioral health services.

What is also so cool is the alumni program they have. I know many people use it and love it. I am very involved in my homegroup so I don't use it as much as maybe I would like to. But they really do set you up with success. Thank you Rosecrance for everything! ROSECRANCE has saved my life and taught me how to live my life. From detox to inpatient to iop to continuing care, it is showing me and teaching me how to live clean and sober from any mind altering chemicals. The love that I receive from all the counselors especially Colleen, Jada, Matt, CecCe, Ashley, Dr Neubauer, Dr Garcia, Fran, Taylor, gosh I could probably keep going and going. All of these people love me from the moment they met me. They continue to love me even though I am not in treatment anymore they still love me and support me. Also due to Covid-19 5 days after I got out of treatment we were quarantine , we could no longer go to IOP. Even NA and AA meetings were closing the doors we were told to stay home. I was so lost I didn't know what I was going to do so I went ahead and I signed on to the alumni app for Rosecrance. ALL I CAN SAY IS EVERYONE SHOULD GIVE IT A TRY. I HAVE PRETTY MUCH DONE EVERYTHING IN IT ON A REGULAR BASIS MORE IN THE BEGINNING BUT I'M STILL THERE AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. AND I'M NOT ONLY THERE FOR ME I'M THERE FOR YOU FOR ANYONE WHO NEEDS HELP PLEASE COME TO THE APP IT LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE. This was my post when I first got here March 2020 and I still feel all the same feelings. I've been gone for almost 2 weeks due to an illness and I have felt so dead inside. The past 3 days coming back to the meeting in the app has helped to bring me back to feeling well. I have so much to live for and it's time to start living again !! Rosecrance relies on evidence based treatment that works. They have over 15 campuses spread across the upper Midwest, serving thousands of clients every year. The Rosecrance Griffin Williamson Campus is for teens, with wings for boys and girls, each with their own separate facilities. My son suffered from a crack and heroine addiction and he spent 104 days receiving counseling, group counseling, AA meetings, we had family counseling, both client and family education regarding addiction and all the ways it affects your body/mind and your life, and your family's lives. By the time he was discharged, he was helping the newly admitted boys to find their way. All of the campuses that I have seen are very clean, beautiful, and expertly run by staff who really care about the clients. I have seen Rosecrance from the other side as well. My family started a foundation and we have been donating musical instruments and art supplies to multiple Rosecrance campuses. We have found that the Administrators are as caring and exceptional as the counselors and Directors. Rosecrance has real success stories.

I recently celebrated two years of sobriety which I attribute in large part to my experience with outpatient treatment at the Rosecrance New Life Outpatient Center. EVERYONE on staff is professional and compassionate and the curriculum is fact-based and extremely helpful. As a result, I was able to make the decision to quit drinking and begin on my road to recovery. My life has been forever changed - making me forever grateful!

I can not thank this facility and the outpatient program I attended enough. For if I was not taught how to change my way of thinking but most importantly the recovery tools that I carry with me on my belt at all times and how to use all of them to my advantage I don't think i would still sober today or alive for that matter. Shot out to the staff, especially the ever so Compassionate, Always Reliable,Loyal, Intellectual primary counselor I was gratefully granted. So if you are struggling at long term sobriety then I would HIGHLY recommend you call this Lakeview location I am proof this program works. * drops the mic

Went on when I was 14, spent 50 days in inpatient. I'm 4 years sober. Think of this place everyday. Made life time friends and lifetime memories. I'm greatful to have recovered here.

Very helpful. Life changing. Nothing but positive memories that still make me smile to this day. I can say I actually miss this place. Food was great, staff was phenomenal, and the program was very structured and attentive to my personal problem. Not a single bad thing to say about this place at all. This is the go to place for substance abuse issues 10/10.

Because I honestly wanted to change my life for myself this place gave me the tools that I needed to begin that journey. On the 25th of this month I will have 18 months clean and sober because I took rosecrance, the 12 step program and my life seriously.
