Rosecrance’s Garcia named to State Police Merit Board

Rosecrance is pleased to announce that Raymond Garcia, M.D., has been appointed to the Illinois State Police Merit Board.

Dr. Garcia, a board-certified psychiatrist and addictionologist, is the Rosecrance Harrison Campus Medical Director. He also is on faculty at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, where he has received the Golden Apple, Mentor of the Year, and Distinguished Teaching Awards.

“I’m grateful to receive this honor,” Garcia said. “The board plays an important role in ensuring that we hire and promote the most qualified individuals to these key public safety roles.”

The State Police Merit Board is comprised of seven members appointed by the Governor who evaluate State Trooper candidates, promotions, and discipline. Dr. Garcia will serve a four-year term on the board.
