Rosecrance is pleased to announce that it will receive nearly $3 million from the Winnebago County Mental Health Board to continue initiatives that make it easier for local residents to receive mental healthcare.
The Access to Care program provides a range of support for Rosecrance’s community-based services. This includes additional psychiatrists who provide evaluation and medication monitoring services, counselors for care and case management who meet individuals in the community, and nurses to enhance medical care at Rosecrance Mulberry Center.
As a result, over 500 new individuals received psychiatric services, and the wait for care dropped by an average of 22 days. In addition, more than three-fourths of clients showed improvement in education and housing stability
Rosecrance and the City of Rockford also will share funds directed toward the Crisis Co-Response Team, which provides mental health counselors along with law enforcement officers who respond to crisis calls. Last year, the team served nearly 1,700 clients, and over 60 percent of interactions resulted in connection to mental health or substance abuse services.
