Rosecrance is pleased to announce that Rosecrance Griffin Williamson Campus Medical Director Adrienne Adams, M.D., recently received the Illinois Psychiatry Society’s 2022 Excellence in Community Service Award.
Adams, a longtime IPS member, has focused on community education and strengthening the psychiatry pipeline in recent years. Through a connection with State Rep. Maurice West (D-Rockford), she facilitated a community health fair in partnership with IPS. Adams also played a key role in launching a high school competition focused on community health awareness as well as a pilot program that encourages teen scholarship.
“I was ecstatic to receive the award,” Adams said. “The society recognizes that we can make a positive impact to help our communities, and I am very passionate about that. Everyone has potential, and I want all youth to have the same opportunities to reach theirs.”
