Rosecrance Chief Medical Officer renews American Board of Psychiatry certifications

Rosecrance Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, Dr. Thomas Wright, recently passed his Combined Maintenance of Certification examination in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. The Board requires these certifications be renewed once every 10 years.

The Maintenance of Certification Program (MOC) of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology reflects the Board’s commitment to lifelong learning throughout one’s profession. The purpose of MOC is to ensure that individuals adhere to the highest standards in medicine and pursue excellence in all areas of care and practice improvement.

Dr. Thomas Wright has more than 20 years’ experience in the field and joined Rosecrance in 2005. He oversees all medical operations for Rosecrance and specializes in working with adolescents who have a co-existing or secondary diagnosis in addition to an addiction disorder.

Additionally, Dr. Wright served on the faculty at Northwestern Medical College in Chicago and at The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and Rockford. He is a regular conference presenter and has been recognized as a medical educator and leader in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Wright received the “Clinician of the Year” award for clinical excellence from Addiction Professional in 2015.
