Walks that heal on International Overdose Awareness Day
Recovery is possible.
The spirit of recovery shines bright, even as the sun sets.
In recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day, Rosecrance Behavioral Health staff, alumni, clients, and board members honored lives lost to overdose with luminary walks at residential sites, bringing together staff, alumni, clients, and community members to pay their respects.
Luminarias and messages of hope, honesty, and remembrance guided the path the participants took. These powerful messages served as a constant reminder that they were not alone in their journey. The impact of these messages will continue into National Recovery Month, as Rosecrance and the communities it serves celebrate the strides made by those in recovery and honor the professionals who make life without substances possible.
Despite challenges individuals may face, these events acknowledge that hope still exists and recovery is possible.
