Rosecrance sites in Central Illinois earn Joint Commission approval

Joint Commission accreditation is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality.

Rosecrance’s locations in the Central Illinois area are now accredited by The Joint Commission after a successful survey visit in February.

The survey covered more than 300 behavioral health care standards and encompassed the majority of programs and services at six sites. The surveyor reviewed policies, standard operating procedures, walk-throughs, data, inspection reports, facility safety, personnel records, strategic planning, and organizational structure. A significant amount of time was also spent interviewing staff throughout all levels of the organization.

“It was a great survey, and Rosecrance staff did a phenomenal job representing our organization,” said Chelsea Collins, Rosecrance’s director of performance improvement and accreditation.

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies nearly 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to achieving higher performance standards.

Rosecrance in Rockford has been accredited by The Joint Commission for more than 30 years and received its most recent Gold Seal of Approval in September 2016 after a weeklong survey visit. Joint Commission surveys are typically done every three years.

“Rosecrance is a strong organization, and we are committed to our clients every day,” Rosecrance Health Network President/CEO Philip W. Eaton said. “That commitment was substantiated through this process and through the dedication of our staff.”
