Rosecrance promotes Garcia to Vice President of Medical Services
Dr. Garcia joined Rosecrance in 2010 as a psychiatrist and medical director at the Rosecrance Harrison Campus.
Rosecrance is pleased to announce that Raymond Garcia, M.D. has been promoted to Vice President of Medical Services. In this new role, Dr. Garcia will lead medical staff at all Rosecrance sites, with a focus on continued enhancement of evidence-based tools to improve client outcomes.
Dr. Garcia joined Rosecrance in 2010 as a psychiatrist and medical director at the Rosecrance Harrison Campus. He also maintains a private practice at Rosecrance affiliate Aspen Counseling and Consulting, where he is the primary provider of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) services.
“Rosecrance is fortunate to have a compassionate expert like Dr. Garcia to keep our medical team at the forefront of treatment,” said Tom Wright, M.D., Rosecrance Chief of Clinical Excellence. “His knowledge will allow us to continue to develop innovative treatments that will help even more individuals find lasting recovery.”
Dr. Garcia earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. He is board certified in board certified in general psychiatry and is certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Recently, Dr. Garcia was appointed to the Illinois State Police Merit Board in March 2022.
In addition, he received the Golden Apple for Excellence in Teaching in 2000 and the Faculty Distinguished Award in 2018 from the College of Medicine. He also was honored with a Preceptor Award from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing at Rockford in 2017, and was issued the Nancy C.A. Roseke, M.D., Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Medical Student Education by the American Psychiatric Association.
