is pleased to announce that recovery coach Bonnie Gilmore has been named a Peer Specialist of the Year by the National Council for Behavioral Health. These awards honor behavioral health staff who have impacted their communities as people with lived recovery experience.
As a person with lived experience, Gilmore has positively impacted thousands of other people living with mental health issues throughout her 25 years at Rosecrance. In addition, Gilmore is a past committee member and speaker for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Northern Illinois.
“Bonnie is most deserving of this award,” said Rosecrance President and CEO David Gomel, Ph.D. “Her determination and spirit make her an unstoppable force advocating for the needs of our clients and the community. I am so grateful that she is receiving national recognition for the amazing work she does every day.”
