A new space to heal
In spring 2023, the Sioux City residential campus embarked on an expansion to introduce a comprehensive care approach for individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Rosecrance Jackson Centers is more than a facility. For teens, adults, and women with their children and their loved ones as they navigate the challenges of substance use and mental health, it’s a beacon of hope.
Now, these individuals are provided with a range of diverse and stimulating environments, as well as a variety of activities, all designed to improve their experience of treatment and promote their overall well-being, thanks to the generous support of a community that champions hope.
In spring 2023, the Sioux City residential campus embarked on an expansion to introduce a comprehensive care approach for individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Wanting to give clients the best care and chance at lasting recovery, the expansion will allow for the integration of experiential and recreational therapies, with the overarching goal of offering a holistic care experience to empower clients toward sustained recovery.
The holistic care approach focuses on addressing the mind, body, and spirit, promoting overall health, and cultivating healthy habits during treatment. Through this approach, previous clients have successfully transitioned from unhealthy habits to embracing healthier ones, highlighting the effectiveness of this comprehensive care model.
Nestled at 3500 W. Fourth St. and established in 2015, the campus has transformed. Clients can now enjoy a therapeutic recreation resource center to be reminded of how good it feels to be active. Connected walking paths improve access to the natural environment with room for individual and group connection, and a new chapel offers space where clients can reflect, meditate, or pray in a welcoming place of calm.
Rosecrance received a $2.3 million state grant to support the expansion project. The project also received additional funding from local individuals and businesses dedicated to promoting hope and supporting recovery, contributing to the project’s successful realization.
“The individuals who come to us deserve the best in facilities, in care, and in hope,” said Dr. Dave Gomel, President and CEO of Rosecrance Behavioral Health. “In Sioux City, the community united in backing an expansion project to enhance the experience and well-being of individuals embarking on their recovery journey, showing their support for recovery, and creating a healthier community for all. I couldn’t be more grateful.”
