Rosecrance gifts former recovery home to Rockford nonprofit
The historic Rosecrance Hillman House served as a long-term residential recovery program for adolescents.
After two decades of providing support through the Rosecrance care continuum, Rosecrance Behavioral Health has transferred ownership of the Rosecrance Hillman House to Life Decisions.
The historic Rosecrance Hillman House served as a long-term residential recovery program for adolescents, focusing on helping them develop independent living skills following residential treatment. It offered ongoing support, education, and counseling in a substance-free environment.
Rosecrance has a long history of supporting adolescents in Rockford, positively impacting countless lives over the past century. A significant milestone in this effort was the opening of the Hillman House in 2002.
This facility allowed Rosecrance to consolidate its services for teen recovery in one location while adapting to the evolving needs of the community and prioritizing what is best for the youth it serves.
“It was important to Rosecrance that we gift the home to a mission-driven nonprofit, one that will continue to serve the youth of the community the same way we have through the Hillman House,” said Dr. Dave Gomel, President/CEO of Rosecrance Behavioral Health. “Our hope is that Life Decisions will carry on the legacy of support and empowerment that we have fostered at the Hillman House, ensuring that the young people in our community continue to receive the guidance and opportunities they deserve.”
