Medication Management

Medication management can improve medication adherence, reduce side effects, reduce the risk of relapse, and improve overall health outcomes. It’s an important part of treatment for people with mental health and substance use disorders.

How medication management works

At Rosecrance, each client is cared for by a team of specialists who have committed their careers to supporting the unique needs of people living with mental health and substance use disorders.

Together, the team designs an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management for symptoms related to mental health and substance use. That can take place at the residential and outpatient treatment levels, and for clients of all ages—youth, adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults.

Rosecrance providers such as psychiatrists and nurse practitioners play a crucial role in medication management. That role includes comprehensive assessments to understand an individual’s medical history and symptoms, collaborating with an individual’s medical team like a primary care provider or therapist, and monitoring medication use for side effects and adjusting medications as needed.

Medication management is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s a collaborative process that requires open communication and trust between you and your provider.
