In time of increased stressors, help is available for individuals living with mental illness
Rosecrance is championing hope by increasing access to mental healthcare through an expanding network of outpatient centers.
Mental illness affects most Americans directly or indirectly in some way, but less than half of those diagnosed receive treatment. In a sustained time of increased stressors, this is a concern for mental health professionals who recognize the value of treatment.
About one-in-four adults experience a mental health disorder each year, and about half of all Americans will have a diagnosable mental health condition at some point in their lives. However, the National Alliance on Mental Illness reports that only 46 percent of these adults will receive treatment.
“We’ve made strides talking about mental health concerns as many of us have faced challenges over the past few years, yet many who could benefit from treatment don’t reach out for help when they need it,” said Rosecrance Regional President Carlene Cardosi, M.S.W., LCSW. “Millions of our friends and family members overcome mental health conditions each day because they took time to reach out. I encourage those who may be struggling and their loved ones to know that hope and help are available for whatever they are experiencing.”
Rosecrance is championing hope by increasing access to mental healthcare through an expanding network of outpatient centers. In addition, residential treatment is available for mental health and individuals with both mental health and substance use disorders. Rosecrance also is active in the community offering extra support for youth in schools and by providing crisis care in northern and central Illinois.
