Rosecrance acquires Iowa clinic to offer outpatient treatment services
Offices for Rosecrance New Life will remain at the current location.
Rosecrance Health Network, a nationally known addiction treatment provider based in Rockford, IL, has acquired New Life Outpatient Center, an agency with a 25-year history in the community.
The new name of the business is Rosecrance New Life Outpatient Center. Staff will continue to offer evidenced-based treatment for substance abuse, along with prevention programming. Rosecrance New Life will offer expanded treatment options for teens with substance use disorders.
Rosecrance is among the nation’s premier providers of treatment services for teenagers. Rosecrance also serves adults and operates licensed recovery homes. This is the organization’s first venture in Iowa, although families from the Quad Cities have long turned to Rosecrance for inpatient treatment services at two large campuses in Rockford. Rosecrance has more than 40 locations in northern Illinois, including Chicago, and in southern Wisconsin.
Rosecrance President/CEO Philip W. Eaton said the organization is strategically expanding its footprint with the purchase of an existing business in Iowa.
“The need for quality addiction treatment continues to grow and that is Rosecrance’s core competency,” Eaton said. “We look forward to expanding services to meet needs in the Quad Cities region.”
New Life was founded in 1991 by Michael Shovlain to offer behavioral health services in the region. It was the first private for-profit outpatient treatment center in the state of Iowa. Michael Shovlain died in 2014, and the practice was continued under the direction of his wife, Cheryl. She now plans to retire.
“Over 25 years, New Life has helped thousands of people recover from substance abuse and we look forward to meeting that standard of excellence,” said Dr. David Gomel, Sr. VP and Chief Operating Officer for Rosecrance. “The professional staff that’s already in place will be the foundation for expanding services to meet growing needs in the region.”
Offices for Rosecrance New Life will remain at the current location: Paul Revere Square, 2322 E. Kimberly Road, Suite 200 North, Davenport.
