Rosecrance CEO applauds behavioral health focus in FY23 budget

With the need for mental health treatment at an all-time high in Illinois, we applaud Governor J.B. Pritzker for calling attention to this crisis and acknowledging that greater investment in this area, through funding and the appointment of a Chief Behavioral Health Officer, will bring much-needed help to people and communities in every corner of the state. We stand with Governor JB Pritzker and with Majority Leader Greg Harris and Senator Elgie Sims, who are championing increased investment in the General Assembly.

In response to today’s governor’s address, Rosecrance President/CEO Dr. Dave Gomel shared this statement:

“The Governor’s announcement today of an appropriation of $140 million in the FY23 budget and a Chief Behavioral Health Officer has the potential to save thousands of lives in our state. Providing greater access to care for those who seek treatment for mental health and substance use disorders has been one of our greatest challenges. We look forward to continuing the work with leaders in our region and throughout Illinois to ensure that quality behavioral healthcare is available to all. We applaud the Governor’s commitment to behavioral healthcare.”
