Philip Eaton, president/CEO of Rosecrance Health Network, to manage growth and development opportunities
Rosecrance announced today that effective immediately, David Gomel, Ph.D., has been named president of Rosecrance, Inc. Rosecrance, Inc. is a subsidiary of Rosecrance Health Network.
Dave Gomel began working for Rosecrance in 1993 as a counselor in adult substance abuse treatment. He has served in many roles since then, from supervisor at the former Alpine Campus to administrator of the Griffin Williamson Campus. He earned his doctorate degree in 2016 and has overseen the day-to-day services at Rosecrance’s many sites and expanding organization for several years. Outside of work, he is active in the community, coaching basketball, serving as chairman-elect of the YMCA of Rock River Valley Board of Directors and volunteering for Special Olympics. He is also chairman of the Illinois Association for Behavioral Health Board of Directors.
In this new role, Gomel will be responsible for all programs and services offered by Rosecrance, Inc., and continue to report directly to Philip Eaton, who will remain president/CEO of Rosecrance Health Network. Eaton will oversee the areas of marketing, finance, human resources, and development/communications. Through this organizational change, Eaton will also have the opportunity to concentrate on future growth to the organization and areas that may be added to the RHN.
Eaton will devote greater focus and vision to the strategic areas of advocacy and public policy, as well as the development area, including donor relations and fundraising. As the Rosecrance footprint has continued to expand, Eaton will also focus on growth to the organization and areas that may be added to the RHN.
In 2016 Rosecrance added two new locations: Rosecrance Lakeview in Chicago is a 30-bed sober living facility which also provides a robust outpatient clinic; Rosecrance Central Illinois has expanded the former Community Elements mental health treatment organization to include substance abuse treatment. As the parent organization, the Rosecrance Health Network is exploring growth in other communities to expand its nationally recognized programs for substance abuse treatment. Rosecrance currently employs more than 800 staff at over 40 locations.
